Gullion Youth FC – Last Man Standing Rules

Overview

Last Man Standing is a knockout competition based on Premier League results. Each round, players select one Premier League team to win. If your selected team draws or loses, you are eliminated. The last remaining player wins the pot.

Entry Fee & Prize

Entry fee: £10 per player

Prize: 50% of the total pot, the other 50% goes towards club fundraising. No admin fees

Payment

Payment of £10 for each entry must be made BEFORE the start of the competition. Multiples entries are allowed (and encouraged!). 

Payment can be made in cash, PayPal here or via Monzo (account details on request)

Start Date

The competition starts on Saturday 31st January 2026, DEADLINE for entry is Friday 30th January 2026, 8pm

Each round will include all Premier League fixtures from that matchweek

Eligible Matches

Only Premier League fixtures apply

Cup competitions, European matches, and friendlies are excluded

Making a Selection

Upon entry, each entrant will be added to a competition WhatsApp group and the deadline for each match week will be communicated. 

Each active player must select one Premier League team to win per round and selections must be submitted before the communicated deadline. No exceptions!!!

Failure to submit a selection on time will result in being allocated the first unused team by alphabetical order. 

Match Outcomes

Your chosen team must win to progres

A draw or loss results in elimination. 

Team Reuse

Each team may only be selected once per player for the duration of the competition

Reusing a team already picked will result in elimination

Postponed or Abandoned Matches

If a match is postponed before kick-off, another team must be selected (time permitting)

If a match is abandoned after kick-off, the entrant will be through to the next round but cannot use that chosen team again

Tie-Breaker Rule

If all remaining players are eliminated in the same round, all eliminated players from that round will re-enter and must:

* Select a Premier League team they have not previously used

* Picks apply to the next available Premier League matchweek

The process will continue until a single winner is determined, unless the split option below is chosen

Split Pot Option (3 or Fewer Players Remaining)

When three (3) or fewer players remain, the remaining entrants may:

  * Agree to split the prize pot equally, or

  * Continue playing until one winner remains

* All remaining players must agree for a split to take place

Administration

The Gullion Youth FC organiser’s decision is final in all matters
